No programming software required. Channels are easily programmed to the radio from internal list. Select from GMRS or 7 of the FRS channels, or use the built-in frequency finder feature which allows you to set-up communication with other radios you already have (if they are on GMRS, or the 7 shared FRS frequencies). Easy instructions included!.

Increase the range of your transmissions outdoors up to 5 plus miles (range varies according to operating environment and weather conditions), while the repeater function can extend communications range to 25 or more miles (repeater use may require a subscription), and indoors where obstacles and walls offer challenges to regular FRS radios.
